What is Higher Consciousness?

- Higher Consciousness is the desired state of healthy, harmonious, and holistic living.

- The components of higher consciousness may include good health, stress management, wellness, balance, harmony, wholeness, fulfilling relationships, creative unfoldment, emotional intelligence, greater awareness, inspiration, purpose, meaning, spirituality, and, above all, the peace of mind.

- Higher Consciousness is ultimately the attainment of wholeness and harmony in the Four key aspects of your personality - Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit.

What is Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit ?

Body: Physique, Health and Senses

Mind: Thoughts and Ideas

Heart: Emotions and Feelings

Spirit: Access to the Source of Creation or Higher Self or Soul

By paying conscious attention to these and by answering the following questions, it is our hope that the resulting BMHS profile will highlight the key traits of your personality - a wholistic view of you.

Why harmonize Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit?

Most of us desire to live a life of good health, emotional stability and peace of mind. But somehow we entangle ourselves in our busy lives and lose the harmony. We find that our body is exhausted and sick due to the lack of proper diet, exercise or sleep. We find that our mind is full of stress, tension and anxiety, and that our heart is full of negative emotions. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are damaging the harmony of our body, mind and heart due to our own lifestyle, old habits and, ultimately, due to our ignorance.

We can blame our workplace, our society or anyone else for this peril. However, if we look a little deep into ourselves, we will find that we are responsible for our own state. Since we are responsible for our inharmonious state, we can also ourselves restore the harmony.

People are looking for ways to bring the harmony to their lives. The increasing popularity of Whole/Organic Foods, Alternative Healthcare, Self-help Gurus, Yoga and Meditation, to name a few, highlights the fact that more and more people are seeking new ways to restore the harmony in their lives. This is very encouraging news.

Our Social Networking / Media site – HigherCons - is yet another effort to help people restore the harmony in their lives. Our approach is both new and unique. We are employing the tools of the Web 2.0 movement - online community, social networking, user-generated content, and collective intelligence - to build a unique modality for people to explore the Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit personal growth and wellness dynamics. Our hope is that the collective intelligence and collaboration generated through the members of our online community will benefit each member to add value to his or her own life.

What are the Four key aspects of our personality?

Our personality has Four dimensions. Body and its senses are the physical and the gross state of our personality. Mind and its thoughts are subtler than Body. Heart and its emotions are also subtler than Body. However, the subtlest level of our personality is Spirit, the basis and the source of everything else.

What is Body?

Body is the physical personality. It includes our physique, health and sense organs - eye (sight), nose (smell), skin (touch), ear (sound) and tongue (taste). Body is the source of physical strength, beauty and health. Since it lies at the grossest level of our personality, most of us are more aware of this than the other three aspects. We can very easily feel the hunger and pain of the body, its sensual needs and its beauty or ugliness. In fact, most of our time is spent in taking care of our body, often at the cost of the other three.

What is Mind?

Mind is our thoughts and ideas. We all think. But, are we consciously aware of our Mind? Are we consciously aware of our thoughts and ideas? Our Mind is an amazing tool when used properly. It is the seat of intelligence, creativity and wisdom. But if not used properly, it is also the seat of anxiety, stress and depression.

What is Heart?

Heart is our emotions and feelings. It is the seat of love, compassion and kindness. But used negatively, it is also the seat of hatred, anger and greed.

What is Spirit?

Of all four key aspects of our personality, Spirit is the least visible. Therefore, most people are unaware of it though it is the source and the basis of the other three. Spirit or Soul, also called Self in Eastern jargon, is that all-pervading, unbounded and ever-available source of our being that has formed the basis of most Eastern spiritual and health paradigms. Spirit or Higher Self is for real. It can be accessed by anyone, anywhere and anytime through simple acts such as meditation or prayer.

How to harmonize Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit in Web 2.0 way?

We call this approach - "3 Easy Steps to Higher Consciousness"

STEP 1: First be consciously aware that there are Four distinct aspects of you. You are your Body, no doubt. But, you are also your Mind, your Heart and your Spirit. By consciously thinking that there are Four of you, you elevate your awareness from previously gross level to a bit deeper level. Why? You begin to realize that you now have three other domains to take care of. Your knowledge of yourself will increase. Even your Body will now find a better way of expressing once you realize that there is more to your life than your Body and its senses.

STEP 2: Join this Social Network by creating your Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit (BMHS) Profile. BMHS Profile is unique to this social networking site and is also at its core. After you have consciously put attention to your Four dimensions, BMHS Profile allows you to think through these dimensions.

BMHS Profile asks you to answer key questions regarding the Four aspects. The questions may come new to you but once you have answered them thoroughly, you will realize that you have discovered something new about yourself that until now was somewhere hidden in you.

STEP 3: Share your path to harmony with others and benefit from the paths treaded by others. Tell others how you keep or would like to keep your Body healthy, well and personable. Tell others how you keep or would like to keep your Mind uplifted, calm and creative. Tell others how you keep or would like to keep your Heart loving, kind and compassionate. Tell others how do you or would like to access to your Spirit. Likewise, avail yourself of the experiences and wisdom of others.

Web 2.0 / Social Media is all about social networking, user-generated content, and collective intelligence. Join us to build the largest community of people seeking to attain the harmony in Body-Mind-Heart-Spirit. Welcome again to our site, the Social Networking / Media for Higher Consciousness, Holistic Lifestyle, and Wellness!

Secret Aspiration - A Poem by Bijay Raut

Secret Aspiration

In all vicissitudes,
I remain calm and still,
I panic not in peril,
Nor do I shake in moment’s chill,

I aspire not any comfort,
Nor do I disdain any pain,
For I am not the one who feel these,
Nor could these feel me,

I aspire you my Lord,
For you ar… Continue

What Is Enlightenment?

By Eric Allen Bell

When it comes to the subject of Enlightenment I am no authority. I do not possess special knowledge nor do I profess to speak to you now from some elevated state. On all matters Divine there is but one authority and that is God.

Enlightenment is often said to be a state of conscious communion with Divine Source.

According to some spiritual traditions this state is something of a finish line. One's existence is seen to be a cycle of birth, death and rebirth as on… Continue
